Naperville Christian Academy will be a school that brings glory and honor to God by providing an exceptional classical Christian education to students in preschool through 12th grade.
The leaders of NCA will be godly men and women who thoroughly understand classical Christian education and can effectively articulate its benefits. The board will consist of five to twelve members who have the skills and experience to lead NCA and ensure that the mission of the school is effectively carried out. The administration will include a Headmaster, grammar school principal, upper school principal, office staff, and custodial staff to support the operations of the school. The administration will have the ability to lead and manage the growth of the school, the development of the faculty and staff, and the continuous improvement of the curricular and co-curricular programs.
NCA will attract, nurture, and retain excellent faculty and staff with diverse experiences. Teachers will be intelligent, broadly educated in the liberal arts, and will have a mastery of classical education in their chosen fields. They will have a passion for learning, a gift for teaching, a love for their students, and a growing maturity in their faith in Christ. Experienced teachers will gladly mentor newer teachers, share best practices, and continuously identify and propose pedagogical and curricular improvements. Teachers will be discipled and shepherded by the administrative leadership and will in turn disciple and shepherd their students, maintaining and nurturing the Christ-centered school culture. The positive work environment, developmental opportunities, compensation, and benefits will lead teachers to view their role with NCA as a career position..
The NCA curriculum will be intellectually stimulating, classically based, and informed by a biblical worldview. The curriculum will be regularly reviewed and opportunities for improvement identified and implemented. The curricular program will be enriched by a co-curricular program which provides fine arts and athletic opportunities for students. NCA students will compete with students from other schools in academics, fine arts, and athletic events. NCA will have established relationships within the local community that provide opportunities for students to serve outside of the school. NCA graduates, prepared in heart and mind to be devoted followers of Christ, will be equipped to determine their future paths based on God’s leading and provision. Graduates applying to colleges will be well prepared for the schools of their choice.
The families of NCA will form a community whose common goal is to raise a generation of young men and women who will impact the world for Christ. Parents will be passionate about classical Christian education and committed to the foundational elements of NCA. They will joyfully volunteer their time and talents in the school and intentionally serve as ambassadors for NCA in the community.
NCA will have two classes per grade, with all classes at capacity, waiting lists in most lower grades, and high student retention. The student body will be ethnically diverse and united in Christ. The school culture will be one of love and respect, and the school environment will be calm, orderly, and joyful.
NCA will have a long term financial plan in place. Tuition will cover 100% of operational expenses and needs based scholarships will be supported through a separate endowment. A strong base of donors will support capital campaigns.
NCA will have a ten to twenty acre dedicated campus with classrooms, laboratories, offices, and green space that support the curricular and co-curricular programs of the school and provide for future growth.
By the grace of God, NCA will be highly regarded in the Chicago area and within the classical Christian school network for its academic excellence and Christ-centered school culture. NCA will be known by its fruit – we strive to have graduates who will exhibit the characteristics shown in the “Goals for Graduates.”
