College Advising

Naperville Christian Academy’s college advisor works to help students identify colleges and universities that are best suited for their talents, interests, aspirations, and needs. The advisor is actively involved in many facets of the application process and provides support for both students and parents.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

-Jeremiah 29:11-13

The College Advising Department exists to aid and guide students and parents, from freshman year through senior year, to navigate the process of exploring the path God may be calling the student to pursue, and applying to college if higher learning is a part of that pursuit. Preparing for college begins well before senior year; all four years build towards this momentous life decision.

Beginning Freshman year, students begin to plan possible life goals and means to achieve them. We look at ways to make the high school years meaningful and God-honoring in that endeavor. In Sophomore year, students continue to build towards their future, take the PSAT – a college entrance exam precursor that can qualify exceptional students for a National Merit Scholarship, and begin looking for internships.

During Junior year, students are encouraged to take one or more college entrance exams. The ACT and the SAT are available in the local community. Our College Advisor helps students stay on top of registration requirements and deadlines. NCA offers the CLT (Classic Learning Test) in house to junior year students. Juniors also start looking for college scholarships.

Freshman year students apply to colleges, visit campuses, request teacher recommendations, and wait to see what doors will open to them as a result of the diligent and vigorous work they’ve done at NCA. The faculty and staff are faithful in prayer for the students as we send them out well prepared to be culture shapers in the world.
